When it started in 1993, Noise Pop was just another music festival, presenting an annual roster of local and nationally touring bands with little profile. Over the years, through tremendous hard work, will and smarts, the festival has grown considerably. There are more bands at more venues and Noise Pop is now Noise Pop Industries, which puts on the Treasure Island Music Festival and various other special events and projects, from podcasts to pop-up shops.
On Sundays at Thee Parkside, just five blocks away from Plow, you’ll find some good old fashioned, down home, country roots music. Thee Parkside has music most nights, which range across genres and may not be for everyone, but Twang Sundays are the dive bar’s old standby.
