The Albany Blub, just north of the Berkeley border, is a stretch of green along the Albany waterfront that’s littered with sculptures, found objects and whimsy. The paths are mostly flat, and from every turn you’ll get a sweeping view of the San Francisco skyline and both bridges. Walk a mile or so, and you’ll notice all sorts of strange beauty. The Bulb was built on a dump, and there seem to be a few odd remnants lying around, but mostly, the scraps have been transformed into giant driftwood sculptures of people, animals and some combination of the two. Arrive as the fog rolls into the city, and experience one of the spookiest and most stunning walks in the area.
